Boston or Bust!

Last weekend we attended the very first North East Tea Festival held in Boston. It was WILD!

I drove with my friend Alyce in a packed car for two days to get there. We arrived in town and went immediately to the Boston Tea Party Museum. We loved learning all of the history and we came back with all of the teas thrown overboard. Singlo, Hysson, Bohea (said Boo Hee), Lapsang Souchong, and Congou. The tour was a lot of fun, however, I wish there was more time given to read all of the signs and history. We were on a timed tour and had to keep moving.

One of the coolest things was how one of the chests survived and was handed down generation to generation being used for a variety of things including a home for a stray cat and her babies.

The next morning was a rush of setting up and preparing to vend at the festival. To say it was amazing is selling it short. Literally 800 people showed up as tea lovers who were excited to be there. The line outside was 3 blocks long for most of the day. The venue was packed and we met SO MANY PEOPLE! The two biggest questions were, "What is Yinzer tea" and "Can I buy your tea pot?" We of course found a handful of native Yinzers in the crowd because Pittsburgh is EVERYWHERE!!!!

Sunday, Alyce and I got up and went to Salem for an afternoon tea experience with our Modern Prairie friends. Jolie Tea was simply wonderful. Great tea. Beautiful ambience. Kind workers.

After the tea, we got on the road for the trip home. We got home Monday at dinner time for the biggest whirlwind of a trip EVER!

Driving, Alyce and I bounced around so many directions I could go with the business. I was reinvigorated being surrounded by industry people, people who just love tea, and the whole vibe!
