For the majority of people, tea is just something cheap in which you open a tea bag and drop into hot water. It isn't anyone's fault. This is just what tea culture in America has looked like since the early 1900's when the tea bag was accidentally invented. However, what has been lost is that tea is a plant that not only is susceptible to weather, but also as a global product.

Today as I write this blog post, we are struggling to source tea. Responsible sourcing has always been a HUGE part of the business and we have had some great partners. Right around holiday season, we were alerted that one of our biggest suppliers was taking a pause and possibly restructuring. However, as of the other day, with the tariffs and other headaches, they have decided to hang up their shoes. Some of our most favorite and best quality teas came from them and unfortunately, we are just too small with not enough space to actually become importers ourselves.

This leaves our tea line with giant holes and some bandaid fixes as we continue to search for new suppliers and new teas. On the positive side, this means we are going to explore bringing in some new varieties, flavors, etc. If you want to see something we don't currently carry, please let us know!

In addition, we have kept our prices stable for the past few years, however as we know more about tariffs and what that trickle down effect is, we may have to increase prices. We will hold off as long as possible.

I have always believed in growth moments and this is certainly one of them. The staff and I appreciate your continued support and patience as we navigate these weird times. But also, stay tuned for some new teas!

xo,
Danielle
